Seated at last

Moving is always very stressful and exhausting, at least for me. And when the decision to move cities comes quite unexpectedly — as it did for us this past fall — it only adds to the challenges.

Since we ended up moving into a location where we have some family close by for a change, I wanted to make sure to get a properly sized table so we can host dinner parties for the whole family (as soon as it’s possible again). My husband built a large dinner table from counter tops and steel legs. All that was missing were a lot of chairs …

Getting any furniture during a pandemic can be difficult; not too long after we’ve moved and were still partially surrounded by moving boxes, all furniture and hardware stores closed for several months due to a hard lockdown at the time. Our only option was to buy online. Since buying ten chairs is quite an investment, we decided to first buy only two and see how we like them. After getting the first chairs and making the decision to buy eight more, those chairs turned out to be not available any longer and we ended up waiting for a few more months. And after that, a couple more months. However, last week they finally arrived!

The chairs are finally here…
